Afghanistan Day 256: NMAA

Today the Lit 1 students made their flags as part of their symbolism assessment in the unit My Brother Sam is Dead.  They chattered away in English (albeit imperfectly) about how the story was like their country, their lives, how the ending surprised them, how it made them feel sad, how it was challenging to read.  They asked me questions about US history, about peace, about education.

  1. Bless the souls of those who long for peace in a world of unrest. We all hope for freedom and to feel the sun on our face.
